In his fourth year at Fresno State, Mariucci’s leadership contributed to $10.4 million in revenue during the 2023-24 fiscal year, including $9.9 million in donations – the highest total in the history of Fresno State Athletics and second-highest total for any unit in the university’s history. During Mariucci’s time as AD at California Baptist University, he guided the highly successful transition to full NCAA Division I membership in August 2022. CBU collected multiple team and individual championships and NCAA berths in their first year of Division I eligibility.  Mariucci generated unprecedented growth by eclipsing $2 million in fundraising – the highest total in program history, while also securing multiple $1+ million commitments during his tenure.  Mariucci negotiated a record five-year apparel deal with BSN/Nike and one of the largest pouring rights sponsorship for a D-I mid-major institution, a seven-figure deal with Pepsi in 2022.

Mariucci also announced a $20 million Master Facilities Plan that included among other capital projects the construction of the brand new $5 million soccer stadium, which opened in August 2022, new basketball and volleyball competition floors, a baseball and softball clubhouse, a state-of-the-art Daktronics baseball scoreboard and a new 300-meter practice track for the track and field/cross country programs.

Prior to joining CBU, Mariucci was a member of the San Diego State’s senior staff as the Associate Athletics Director for Development and Executive Director of the Aztec Club.  The Aztec Club generated a national standard by setting all-time school records of $33.6 million in pledges, commitments, and total donors while helping lead the single largest capital campaign in athletics history: The $100 million Campaign for Aztec Stadium. Mariucci also served as the associate sport supervisor for the football program.

Before his tenure at SDSU, he served as Senior Associate Athletics Director for Development at the University of San Diego. As a member of the athletic director’s executive team, Mariucci was the sport supervisor for football and men’s golf. Football won three consecutive conference championships and was ranked in Division 1 FCS Top 25 each season.  At USD, Mariucci led a national search that hired Chris Riley, the first Ryder Cupper to become a NCAA Division I men’s golf head coach.

While at the University of Maryland, Mariucci was a member of the senior and management team as the Associate Athletic Director for Development and Sport Supervision, which successfully navigated the university transition into the Big Ten Conference from the Atlantic Coast Conference. During the first two years as a Big Ten member, Maryland won the most Big Ten championships and broke ground on a $150+ million football facility.  Additionally, Mariucci was a sports supervisor for several teams, including women’s basketball, wrestling, baseball and field hockey, among others that produced six conference championships, four NCAA tournament appearances, and 29 Academic All-Americans.

Mariucci started his career in intercollegiate athletics at Fresno State and the University of Memphis. A former Division I FCS football student-athlete at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, Mariucci graduated with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology before receiving his master’s degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in sport management from San Jose State. He also graduated from the Sports Management Institute held at the University of Notre Dame and the University of Georgia and was the peer-selected class commencement speaker. Tyler and his wife Jennifer (a Fresno State alumna) have three children and reside in Fresno.
