Keahilele (Ahi) Mattson
Development Intern (Part-Time)
Hailing from Rancho Cucamonga, CA, and deeply connected to the rich heritage of the Big Island of Hawaii, Keahilele "Ahi" Mattson embodies a unique blend of athletic prowess and agribusiness acumen. Ahi's journey began at Fresno State University in 2020, where she made an immediate impact as the starting left fielder for the Fresno State Softball team. Her exceptional performance earned her prestigious accolades, including the Mountain West Player of the Year and Co-Freshman of the Year in 2021. She was also named to the All Mountain West First Team in both 2021 and 2023 and received recognition as an NFCA All-Region Second Team pick. Ahi's dedication extended beyond the field, as she maintained her status as an Academic All Mountain West and Mountain West Scholar Athlete throughout her collegiate career.
Graduating in May 2024 with a major in Agricultural Business and a minor in Plant Science, Ahi is poised to take the next step in her academic journey as she pursues her master’s degree in Agricultural Business. In addition to her studies, Ahi has embraced a new role as a graduate assistant for the softball team, where she contributes to player development, mental coaching, and collaborates closely with the coaching staff.
Currently, Ahi is also a development intern for the Bulldog Foundation, where she plays a pivotal role in club activities, alumni relations, donor engagement, ticketing, marketing, and more. Her commitment to giving back to the institution that has shaped her is evident in every endeavor.
When the sun shines bright and the pace slows down, Ahi returns to her roots in Hawaii, working alongside her grandparents on their coffee farm, cherishing beach days, and fostering connections with family and friends. With a vision to carry on her family’s legacy as a fourth-generation coffee farmer, Ahi continues to further her education, life-time experience, and of course continuing to help Fresno State be great.
