James Woolsey
Development Coordinator
James Woolsey, a Valley native and Clovis North High School graduate, began his career with Clovis Unified School District, where he spent three years working with various elementary after-school athletics programs. He then made his move to Fresno State Athletics, making his mark with contributions to both the Men's Basketball and Football programs.
During his tenure with Fresno State Men's Basketball, James served as a student manager, where he focused on player development and team scouting. He was a part of the first Bulldog Basketball team to make a postseason tournament berth in over a decade, where they were crowned champions of The Basketball Classic.
James then moved into an equipment manager position with Fresno State Football for the 2022 season. His dedication and expertise contributed to the team's remarkable success, including becoming the Mountain West Conference Champions as well as champions of the LA Bowl against PAC-12 rival Washington State. These accomplishments highlight his ability to support high-performing teams and contribute to their success.
His exemplary performance and leadership earned him a promotion to the role of Assistant to the Director of Football Operations, where he continues to play a vital role in the operational success of the football program through behind-the-scenes work.
Currently, James serves as the Development Coordinator at the Bulldog Foundation, where he plays a key role in event planning and execution as well as donor relations. He leverages his extensive background in athletics administration to support and enhance the foundation's initiatives to elevate Bulldog student-athletes and the entire Fresno State Athletics department.
James holds a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology - Sport Administration from Fresno State and a certificate in Sports and Entertainment Facilities Management. He is also currently pursuing a Master's degree in Kinesiology - Sport Administration at Fresno State, demonstrating his ongoing commitment to professional growth and excellence.
In his free time, James enjoys playing a multitude of sports, traveling, taking day trips to the beach with his dogs, and spending quality time with family and friends. He is also dedicated to giving back to the community through volunteer work at his church. He has a passion for the San Joaquin Valley, and has a strong desire for the success of the region that he and his family have resided in for more than two decades.
