Dear Bulldog Supporters:

Please know that we deeply appreciate your continued support of Fresno State Athletics. You are truly making a difference in the lives of our student-athletes and helping to advance our athletics program toward its tremendous potential. To that end, it is our intent to capture the emerging economic strengths of the San Joaquin Valley to assist in the development of Bulldog Athletics into a program that is characterized primarily by consistent national competition, academic achievement, personal growth and service to the community.

It is clear that 2007 was a difficult year outside the sports venues – chiefly due to several past issues that were outside our control. Additionally, as is common, we were often required to make difficult decisions and policy judgments relative to continuous challenges relating to NCAA compliance, academic progress, student-athlete conduct, personnel and fiscal operations. It is my sincere hope that you remain supportive and confident that this athletics administration will continue to make - and stand by - the difficult decisions that are vital to our effort to build Fresno State Athletics the “right way.”

We have now entered into what has been described as a “New Era of Bulldog Athletics.” It is an era that will be built upon the Valley’s abundant resources, the best traditions of Fresno State Athletics and the extraordinary efforts of those who came before. Further, we will operate with a keen eye towards the health and welfare of our student-athletes as well as the protection of the integrity of our great university. I am hopeful that we can count on your continued strong support. Together, we can and will build a victorious, sustainable and honorable athletics program that provides countless thrilling moments and serves as a source of great pride for our entire community.
